Park at the top of the hill — our crew will direct you in. Overflow parking is available at the bottom of the hill if the top is full. It’s a hike up, so if the incline isn’t your thing, wait at the bottom and a spot will open up soon.

What to Expect

The Hollow is wild by nature. The trail winds through uneven ground, natural slopes, and terrain that shifts in the dark. Portions of the Hill are navigable by stroller and mobility aid, but the Hollow doesn’t apologize for its hills. If you have mobility concerns, our crew at the entrance will help you find the best path through. Wear closed-toe shoes — the ground has opinions.

Duration: The walk takes 20–45 minutes, but take as long as you like. The Hollow has no closing bell once you’re inside.

All ages: All ages welcome — we’ve had newborns in arms and grandparents in their 90s walk the Hollow. The scares are spooky and fun, not intense. Little ones may want to hold a hand in the darker areas, but most leave smiling.

The Hollow features two small greenhouses as part of the trail experience. They’re a stop along the walk — and if a sudden shower rolls through, they double as a dry spot to catch your breath. The weather doesn’t always cooperate, but the Hollow usually stays open through light rain.

Visitors come from across the region and beyond. If you’re passing through Johnson City on your way somewhere else — the Hollow is worth the stop.

What to Bring / Leave Behind

Bring your phone — the Hollow is worth documenting. Snap your experience and share your photos on our Photos page. Every season we feature the best visitor shots from the Hill.

Leave the pets at home — the Hollow is no place for them tonight. Outside alcohol, weapons, and laser pointers stay in the car. Flashlights dim the magic for everyone else; your phone’s enough if you need it. But do bring your camera — we want to see what you saw on the Hill.

Sensory-Friendly Events

We also host daytime Sensory-Friendly events throughout the season — same trail, softer lights, reduced volume, and no live scares. Check the Calendar for scheduled dates. Need additional accommodations? Contact us and we’ll do our best to make the Hollow work for you.
